Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
• 24 months of post-bachelor's teaching experience with students/children in an educational, recreational, or camp setting. Within this experience, a minimum of 12 months of consecutive employment is required.
• A passion for educating children
• Ability to command the attention of large groups of children in an engaging manner
• English language fluency including but not limited to: proper grammar, sentence structure, word tense, subject-verb agreement, and proper use of adjectives and adverbs
• Demonstration of a neutral accent, clear pronunciation, good intonation and English language rhythm
• Energetic, enthusiastic approach to delivering content to learners
• Ability to relocate to China for a 12 to 15 month contract

Mission:

In our unique fine art program, boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 13 years old will be given the tools to transform their ideas onto paper or canvas.

At Alyce's Art Studio the teacher is a facilitator, an art enthusiast, and an expert. Alyce's students will use visual references taken from famous artists and life in order to develop a deeper understanding of the formal elements of art. At the same time, they will be given opportunities to explore various mediums and techniques. By providing her students with thorough knowledge about art's history, forms, and elements and at the same time allowing for personal interpretation, imagination, and self-expression, Alyce's students will be able to create their own personal vision.

Essential Functions:

-Facilitate, supervise, and teach 6 students per class. Each student will be working on their own project depending on where they are in the curriculum and based on their own personal interests.
-Help students be creative, independent thinkers.
-Use Alyce's curriculum to teach color theory, perspective, line, proportion, compositional balance, anatomy, and so fourth.
-Build relationships with students and parents.
-Maintain a calm environment while you manage the classroom.
-Work enthusiastically and positively with those around you.

Qualifications:
-At least 3 yrs. of experience working with elementary- aged children. This is a high paced environment that requires the ability to multi-task, give directions effectively, draw quickly and accurately while at the same time remain patient and positive.
-Must have experience working with charcoal, oil pastels, watercolors, colored pencils, graphic pens, and acrylic paint mediums.
- Degree in art preferred, high school diploma required.
- Someone working towards a career in art education or someone pursing a career in art with a passion for teaching would be a perfect fit.
-Enthusiasm and motivation to work with children

Work Schedule:
