TEFList Employers Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
TEFList is the first English Language Teaching job website using the full power and range of Web 2.0 technologies to connect teachers and employers. We are the only job website to allow members to record and embed video. TEFList gives employers a permanent homebase for advertising: the teachers come to you! TEFList also uses technology to send your job around the internet via RSS, social networking, bookmarking and connectivity features like Twitter and Facebook.
TEFList is the creation of two hard-working teachers. Dmitry, the technological wizard who has brought EFL lots of other fine apps, and David, a teacher trainer who brings his caring and hard working philosophy to TEFList from EFL Classroom 2.0, his online teaching community. We should also note that TEFList was assembled by a small group of wonderful software developers and website designers, iCreative Labs. You get more info on our ABOUT US page.
It’s simple! Register and you’ll be sent a link to post a job. Or simply click "Post a job” on the front page. We will guide you through our super-simple 4-step process. Your first ad is ALWAYS free (just ignore the price that appears). Also, your ads are saved and you can easily with a few clicks, post another ad when you have another position to advertise. Simple as pie!
- Input basic information about the job (location, salary, start date, etc)
- Tell us about any additional benefits and describe the job in a bit more detail
- List your contact information and tell us how teachers should contact you
- Make payment and tell us on what date we should start showing your job ad (All job ads are FREE during our Beta period)
Your job ad will be shown on TEFList for as long as you like. If you paid for one month, then it will be shown for one month, and if you paid for 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 months, then it will be shown for that long. Of course, you can pay for a one-month job ad today, but set it to start appearing on TEFList any time in the future. Of course, we'll charge you only for the time that your ad appears on our site.
On your "Dashboard”, you will see a full set of statistics about how many teachers have viewed your job ad and more.
We made sure this is easy. Simply go to your "My Ads” page, find the ad you wish to disable, and under the ad, click "Disable this ad”.
Blue jobs are external jobs, that have come to us from other websites. Each of those jobs has an info box below, from which you can click to get more information about the site where it originated. Gold jobs are jobs posted directly on TEFlist. If you post a job through TEFList, it will be a gold job ad that always takes priority by appearing at the top of lists that teachers see, such as the "latest jobs" list, the front page scroller, etc. Jobs you post on TEFList will also be promoted in additional ways outside of TEFList, by using social networking services and other technologies. Our twitter feed http://twitter.com/eltjobs goes to over 1,000 sites across the internet - we get your jobs out to the public!
Yes, all teachers who register with TEFList have a profile page which acts as their resume. You can easily search for those teachers that are actively searching for jobs. On the left side of the TEFList front page, you will see the
Employers Tab. Click on this tab for a customized list of teachers' resumes. From there, you can scroll through teachers' resumes, view teachers who have posted a video introduction search for specific qualifications of teachers, and more. During the Beta period, contacting teachers directly is free.
We are affiliated with a number of large English Language Teaching communities with tens of thousands of members (see EFL Classroom 2.0). These teachers will be using TEFList for their job searches and employers and recruiters are able to reach large numbers of teachers. Further, our Twitter and Facebook applications will send information about your job across the internet.
That is our chosen charity. 10% of all purchases on TEFList go directly to our favorite charity. Please visit this wonderful organization which helps education. By using TEFList, you are helping others and we feel a strong commitment to making TEFList an organization and community that cares.

No, you don’t. However, to post a job, view teachers' contact details, and to contact teachers, you will need to register.
Simply click on the LOG IN / REGISTER button in the top right corner of any page. Fill in your username and password and you are good to go. You will be sent a confirmation email, but you can start right away to post your job on TEFList and fill out your school profile!
After you register, you can view teacher resumes and post jobs. Also, show off your organization by designing an attractive profile page! You have two options:
- Use our basic editor to upload photos, locate yourself by map, and describe what makes you unique. You can also embed or upload a video.
- You can use our Advanced Editor and put in your own html code and fully design every detail of your page. Send others your profile page address. We give even the smallest of schools or recruiters a place on the web.
Yes. If you don’t want teachers contacting you or seeing your profile, simply click the "Settings” link on your dashboard. From there, you can deactivate your profile and make it private. It can stay this way until you start looking for your next teacher, and you won't have to re-enter any of your info. Your profile will remain 100% offline until you restart your teacher search.

Yes, you can! Simply click "attach files” and select what you want to send to teachers. They will get the documents safely and securely. Privacy assured.
On their profile page you will see a large button labeled, "Contact this teacher instantly”. Simply click this button and send them an internal message. You can both use the TEFList email server for private correspondence about employment, or you can share your outside contact details and take the conversation offline. It's completely up to you.
Your dashboard is your central hub for finding teachers. From there, you can view statistics about your job ads and profile page. Also, all the resumes of teachers you viewed and saved will be stored there. If you want to
unsave a resume, simply click the "x” to the right of the resume.
